"The Way (Dao) that can be followed is not the Constant Way, the Name that can be called is not the Constant Name", says the opening sentence of Dao De Jing, the foremost Taoist Qigong classic (see the calligraphy below). So are the principles of Qinway Qigong.

Qigong_DaoWhat Is Qigong?

Qigong is an ancient Chinese health science that works with energy through movements and meditation. Qigong is considered the cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is said to help cure and prevent diseases, strengthen the body, and make one feel younger and live longer. "Qi" means energy, and "gong" means to work with this energy. When one has a high level of Qi (energy), one's health will be good. When our Qi level is low, it is usually symptomatic of blockage in the meridians that Qi travels through. This will cause a problem and toxins and disease set in. Toxic material is taken into our bodies by bad diet, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, polluted air and stress.

History of Qigong

Thousands of years ago, the ideas of Qi and natural energy were already proposed and discussed in Chinese books. These mind-body integration Qigong techniques were continuously refined by Chinese Daoist hermits, Buddhist monks, acupuncturists and martial artists for a long period of time. Many different varieties of Qigong has been developed, including Daoist Qigong, Buddhist Qigong, Tibetan Qigong, Medical Qigong, Martial Qigong, and Taiji Qigong etc. However, most Qigong techniques were only taught to a small group of disciples in secret before 1980. Since 1980, many Chinese Qigong masters started to teach Qigong to the public, transforming traditional Qigong into modern Qigong. Now millions of people around the world practice Qigong. Qigong is often called "miracle healing" from the East.

Health Benefits of Qigong

Health benefits of practicing Qigong have been documented by many scientific experiments in China and throughout the world. In one experiment, Qi emitted from a Qigong master was shown to kill cancerous cells. For more info, you may visit Qigong Institute, a non-profit Qigong research organization.

Qinway Qigong

Qinway Qigong was founded Master Qinyin. It is one of the most successful versions of modern Qigong. Traditional practices have been streamlined while the healing effects are greatly accelerated and enhanced. It is specifically designed for modern people living in a fast pace society with ever increasing need to stay stress-free and energetic. It is a set of special Qigong techniques that can increase the amount of vital Qi in the body to form a sufficient pressure to remove toxins. One main characteristic of Qinway Qigong is the opening up of energy channels between the human being and the universe. The healing power of Qinway Qigong is further enhanced by effectively incorporating the advanced Bigu techniques (energized fasting), a traditional Daoist practice for rejuvenation and becoming immortal.

What Does "Qinway" Mean?

The word "Qinway" in "Qinway Qigong" means the "Way of Qin". In Chinese, the character "Qin" consists of two parts with "water" on the left and "heart" (fire) on the right. So the whole character symbolizes "water-fire balance" or yin-yang balance. It is also an important bagua symbol (eight trigrams) where the water trigram and the fire trigram mingle together. The literal meaning of "Qin" is "to nourish with pure water or fragrance". Qigong Master Qinyin's name was thus given by her mentor Abbess Huikong at Sacred Mt. Puto (related to Quanyin Buddha). The second part "yin" means "sound" (the same as the "yin" in "Quanyin"). Therefore, "Qinyin" means to "use the sound of truth to nourish the public's mind and spirit". In this way, Abbess Huikong made it clear that Qinyin has a mission.
